Pretty close to a perfect sequel to Pikmin 1. The management and strategy gameplay, music, and visual style are absolutely fantastic. As a side note, it probably as the best end sequence. I also find that Bingo Battle is the most enjoyable and engaging multiplayer mode in the series. My only real complaint is the lack of any real stakes. Most bosses and enemies are pretty easy once you figure them out, and finding enough fruit to survive is a bit too forgiving. The characters are also not as interesting as Olimar was.

The game definitely shows its age in terms of its design, but that Gamecube feel is part of the charm for me. Prime takes a very oldschool Nintendo approach to a shooter, feeling more like 3D Zelda mixed with 2D metroid than anything. Its fragmented story is novel and interesting so long as you have the patience to scan and read all of it. Overall, the game's design is a bit clunky and dare I say a little shallow but still has its own unique value.
