Honestly, I can't--for the life of me--figure out what the premise of this film is. I did catch the second half first, then have returned to the first half tonight. The summary refers to people on vacation in Portugal who are struggling with a problem ("grappling with a life-changing experi-ence"), but they NEVER seem to explain what "the problem" IS!!! In fact, the picture never seems to GO anywhere.
My apologies!!! About an HOUR-in, we see "Frankie" revealing that--after a period of remission--her cancer has returned...and that she's looking at a terminal condition...but--at first blush--there APPEARED to be no explanation of what occurs in this plot. Maybe I'd "ducked out to the kitchen" for a moment?!! Still, this film IS pretty slow-moving....and it rates, maybe, 2.5 stars, in my view.
Incidentally, a cancer diagnosis--these days--does NOT necessarily mean a "death sentence." But--PLEASE--investigate the Cancer Metabolic Model for new information, based on solid research (along with Dr. Thomas Seyfried, e.g.)..If you're wanting to move away from the largely bankrupt "Official Narrative" of Conventional Medicine.
