Developed by NCSoft, the same studio behind Guild Wars 2, Throne and Liberty is already being compared to its predecessor. I may have just started playing Guild Wars 2 in 2024 but many gamer friends of mine have already talked about how this game might replace GW2.
This game is a visual masterpiece. The open-world environments are absolutely stunning with rich landscapes, and incredibly detailed character models that pull you into its world. The soundtracks add another layer of immersion, making the entire experience feel cinematic.
In terms of gameplay, Throne and Liberty feels like a natural evolution of Guild Wars 2. For GW2 players, picking this game up will feel seamless. The controls and combat mechanics are smooth with a well-balanced pace. It really feels like they took the solid foundation of GW2 and gave it a much-needed facelift.
One of the standout aspects so far is the storyline. While I'm still in the early stages, the narrative has been compelling, with intriguing characters and a plot that leaves you wanting more.
While it’s too early to say if Throne and Liberty will dethrone Guild Wars 2, it certainly feels like a worthy successor.
