I only give it 1 star because I can’t give it zero stars. If they want to make an action flick based in Egypt, that’s fine. But to involve God and Moses in this fictional farce in order to try to get Christians to watch it is terrible. In THIS movie Moses is a warrior, he carry’s a sword the whole time, not a staff. He has no speech impediment. Arron is not with him. The burning bush happens while he’s knocked out, and God shows up as a child that gives Moses no directions. Just simply tells him to free the Hebrews and leaves it to him. Moses only sees pharaoh one time, and it’s alone at night to threaten him with a sword to his throat. He’s then trains all the Israelites in combat and makes them bows and swords and wages a war against the Egyptians. When the child God show up again he tells Moses he will help win the war. The plagues then happen but all have rational explanations ( for instance the Nile is turned to blood not by Moses and god, but by crocodiles eating people ) Moses never speaks with pharaoh, pharaoh is never given a chance to repent and free the Egyptians. It’s honestly is portrayed as a man and his enslaved people waging open warfare against their captors with a lot of luck and with them claiming god is with them without him ever showing up or doing anything miraculous. FOR GOD SAKES MOSES DOES NOT EVEN PART THE RED SEA! when they get to the sea he times everything so that they will arrive while the tide is low and they wade across. Sword in hand!
