I love it for what it is: Earnest. It’s a low-budget show that highlights the mundane work life and what it takes to survive. Very few sitcoms come up to bat and take comedic swings so wildly, but Tires lands several, undeniable hits.
It pushes the boundary without coming off like an edgy try-hard.
In an era so careful not to take social missteps Tires is a reminder that comedy backs down to nobody and forces you to laugh even if you’ve been taught otherwise.
Characters as lovable and hate-able like Kilah Fox don’t come around often and when they do they leave their mark. Kilah, playing herself, is the Dwight Shrute of Tires, a lovable degenerate that reminds you of a cousin whose calls you send to voicemail.
The comparisons to The Office are accurate and if we’re lucky we’ll see the sitcom have just as many seasons.
