I read a review that said the movie was unhurried. It certainly was. It was so very, very slow I felt nostalgic, as a child of the 70s. The movie was an absolute visual delight. The costuming was spot on. But ultimately, I was anxious for it to wind up.

Such a disappointment. Slow, lethargic, and disturbing. Four graphic suicide attempts. It was like an instructional video on how to end your life. Plodding and predictable, with a wooden performance from his son. No depth to supporting characters. Just tossed in for effect. The one star is for the wonderful performance from the female lead. But even her bright warmth couldn’t override the sight of Tom hanks with a shotgun propped under his chin. Not sure what the funny parts were. Glad I didn’t take my grandkids.
