So I was an upperclassmen in college when NCAA 14 was out. It was by far my favorite game to play. So seeing this come out made me feel like a little kid in a candy store. I have been playing this game since it came out and I can touch on some things.
The difficulty settings are a bit weird at first. It can be hard initially making that jump to varsity (which is what I started on because I play madden a lot). I worked my way up to all-american difficulty now to heisman difficulty. Not going to lie, it's difficult. However if you're an avid madden player, this shouldn't matter a whole bunch.
Recruiting is fun, but it's been so long since I've played 14 so it's hard for me to compare it in that aspect.
Road to glory is ok, obviously the best game mode is dynasty, and always was IMO. Even back I'm the old NCAA days.
Graphics seem different than the last madden which caught me off guard. However the graphics are still good. Plus seeing the different stadiums and traditions is pretty cool for each program.
The commentary is a nice switch up from the same dang dialogue in madden for the past 5+ yrs.
You're not buying this game to play ultimate team, if so then by all means.
There can be an occasional glitch here and there which can be frustrating, but they are updating the game a lot so hopefully soon all those will be fixed. Sometimes trying to tackle is frustrating as well, as your defense can miss high school kind of tackles right in front of their face. Also sometimes blocking down the field is subpar. Linemen only seem to block at the line of scrimmage sometimes, which is weird.
All on all, I still love the game. Maybe it just makes me feel nostalgic, but there's something about it that makes me keep playing.
I think the haters are just rage quitters, who don't have the heart to keep trying after a frustrating experience.
At least give it a try, for old times sake.
