🚨SPOILER FREE REVIEW🚨 This is easily the best expansion Bungie has ever released for this game and it's not even close, and this is coming from a Vanilla Destiny 1 Veteran. This expansion surpasses other gems like Forsaken, The Taken King, Rise of Iron, and The Witch Queen with no competition necessary. Every mark seemed to be hit in this expansion and there's just so many things that was great. This was a near perfect way to send off the Light and Darkness Saga through the narrative and content released with it. The story and narrative for this expansion was a top tier 10/10 experience. The character development was just top tier. It's so good that it felt as if I was listening to real people talk and not just characters in a video game. I didn't realize it when The Final Shape was originally revealed, but we truly needed Cayde back to finish the Saga with us. Nathan Fillion killed it with his return to the character. I knew going into this expansion that Keith David would do a great job as Zavala, but I wasn't expecting how blown away I'd be by his performance. Keith's style and emotion as he played Zavala really fit the atmosphere of the narrative (no disrespect to Lance, RIP). Truly a 10/10 story experience. The Prismatic Subclass and all the new Light Supers and Aspects were all super fun (no pun intended) and great to play with. I can 100% agree when they said that the build choices seem endless with Prismatic. I would like to add that they used a great method of earning the new Subclasses, Supers and Aspects. Very fun new abilities. The new gear and weapons are very cool and unique to say the very least. Bungie truly went down the uniqueness path when they were creating these new weapons and exotics especially. There's also plenty of quality of life improvements in this expansion that shouldn't go unnoticed. To make my review shorter he's a list of all the great things I've had in my gameplay: - The Final Shape Campaign - The Pale Heart Destination as a whole - The New Prismatic Subclass and Light Aspects/Supers. - The New Gear and Exotics - The Salvation's Edge Raid - The Cryptarch Update - The Xür Update - The Clan/Hawthorne Update - The New Pathfinder System - The New UI Changes - The Witness as a villain was probably the best one in this game's history. - And various other activities that aren't worth spoiling. This expansion was truly 10/10. Disregarding the server issues at first (it's worth noting that I was on vacation the week The Final Shape released and didn't have to deal with server issues on Day 1), this expansion was close to perfect. I highly recommend you get this expansion. The future seems bright for this game.
