This book is awful. It repeats itself over and over, and over and over again. It reminded me of writing assignments my kids might have done in middle school: minimal character development, no hints about what will happen, and a narrative that drones on and on listing out the mundane things the characters are doing / saying / wearing / eating. I forced myself to keep reading, thinking that surely it would get better, that something interesting would happen soon. Finally, half-way through the third chapter, I threw in the towel and returned the book. This is my first time reading Danielle Steel and I am shocked. It's just that awful.
