I like Marketplace, and I watch it always, but you were way off on how you compared buys between Dollarama and The Dollar Tree. Dollarama is not a dollar store anymore. $4 for a lot of stuff. You used a sample size tube of toothpaste, all the same brand, but different ingredients, to compare prices, the one from The Dollar Tree, is a much more expensive one. Try buying it at Shoppers Drug Mart. The Dollar Tree is one of the last true dollar stores. The home base is in the US and because of the pandemic, the American stores actually changed their prices from $1.00 to $1.25, last year, which increased the Canadian stores. I was interested in knowing, from each of the lists the buyers were given, which included Walmart, who got all the items on the list for the lowest price? I'm a loyal Dollar Tree shopper. I will shop at Freshco or No Frills before Dollarama, even they out price Dollarama.
