Rebecca the Woodpecker by Christie Bounsall is a beautifully illustrated story about a lonely woodpecker who feels different from her peers, but through an act of kindness, makes friends who help her dream come true. My sons (4 and 2) are obsessed with this book, so much so that they can now recite it from memory, and they love spotting new details in the pictures each time we read. I highly recommend it — a wonderful read for the whole family!
