I've had this little underrated indie gem sitting in my back log for a few years now. Bought it on sale in the E-shop for a crispy 2 dollar bill and it's been collecting dust ever since. Until today that is. It goes on sale along with the added DLC for under 5 bucks quite often. The graphics are as simple as pixel art gets and the Roguelite/like elements involved are nothing new, nor are they special. I've barely had a few hours with the game and haven't gotten past the first boss yet. Heck, I've only gotten to the boss one time. The game does NOT hold your hand that's for sure. The difficulty reminds me of a soulslike. All of what I just said sounds a bit negative. So why did I give it 5/5? Well it's because you can tell the indie devs put some heart into every pixel and line of code. It's a super addicting play and I can't put it down. It's definitely one of those "just one more try" type of ordeals. Even though it keeps kicking my butt over and over again I'm still having alot of fun while doing it. There's alot of different genres added into one with Mana Spark. Metroidvania, twin stick, Roguelite/like, RPG, soulslike. I barely made it thru 5 percent of the game and I'm already praising it. Only have one character and one weapon(a bow). I have held back from reading any other reviews or seeking any info or videos that may ruin it for me. But I'm hoping that you eventually get other characters and other weapons.
