The book is actually really good in my opinion. I understood where each characters were coming from. The only thing I didn't like much was how all the blame were pointed to Ryle. He did bad things yes, but he was triggered by the insensitivity and lack of honesty by Lily. The physical hurt caused by Ryle could have been avoided if only Lily was honest and faithful. Yes, she did not cheat literally, but she kept everything related to her past with Atlas. This lead to the break up of their relationship completely. If only the reasons of Ryle's outbursts or lost in temper was his own doing, and were not caused by Lily, I would have completely understood her feelings and decisions. It takes 2 to tango. It was just quite unfair for Ryle's character to be depicted as a guy not worth forgiving, given that he was trying his best to overcome his temper problems, but Lily gave him a lot of reasons to be mad.
