I liked this film. You have to appreciate the work it must have taken to regather the whole original cast (save a few). Plus adding a new cast, costumes, choreography, alignment with nostalgic feel of the 1988 original and weaving in a whole new storyline to make this movie work. The first CTA was a success because we didn't know what to expect and were pleasantly surprised. Enjoy this film as an entertaining pastime and not an attempt to outdo the prequel.
