Incredibly disturbing. The end is awfully discouraging for any disabled person struggling in the world. Although the premise of the film is wonderful and inspiring, the implications behind the treatment of disabled people (ie, the idea that their lives are over and their only use is to “aid” nondisabled people who replace them) was incredibly harmful when I watched this a few years ago in ninth grade. But if not for the end, I wouldn’t have minded watching this film. It had promise.
