Many films have rightfully explored the horrors of the Holocaust, ensuring that history is neither forgotten nor denied. This new film is especially significant because it turns attention to the atrocities committed by Japan during World War II—events too often overlooked in cinema and public discourse. Germany has shown moral courage in confronting the crimes of the Nazi era with honesty and accountability. One can only hope that Japan, too, will embrace the responsibility of facing its past, acknowledging the suffering it caused, and opening the way toward reconciliation and understanding.
