Some crafty writing & gritty descriptions of the reality of caretaking and caregiving. Spoilers: The minimising of our upbringing by the ‘push’ to fix and maintain an image was numbing in this book. Only when she gives up does the truth emerge..and in the hopeless repeat of the cycle. I felt jerked around by the plot and the absconded souls of the characters.
