This game is beloved by a lot of people. You can't say that it's a bad game simply based off the fact that so many adore it. However, the one issue is that everybody who beats it will swear to you that you're just not good enough and that if you learn the enemies and you learn the bosses that the game will become more enjoyable. I forced myself to get through this. I'm going to beat the entire game, but I'm currently a really good chunk into the game. I've beaten about six bosses at this point and let me say that I have enjoyed nothing that the game has offered me yet. It is brutally unforgiving and while yes, eventually when it comes to a certain area or a boss, you will learn the moves of that enemy or of the surrounding enemies and you will get better at dodging you will upgrade your weapons and you will become more of a threat. But the problem is is that unless you are in love with this world or unless you are looking at tips, everything is as tedious as possible.
To many getting through the challenges in this game will make you feel great about yourself and it will feel satisfying to take down that challenge for me. I have not felt that yet. I have felt nothing but aggravation tediousness overcoming a hard enemy has never given me a sense of satisfaction or a feeling of awe and wonder. So obviously the mechanics of this game are definitely for some people and you will find so many saying that it's easy and it's because they love being destroyed in a game long enough to where they just know what to do by heart and they love growth. However, just know that the first area of the game is unbelievably tedious. Things are set up that way. They are set up to make you fail a bunch and then learn what you were doing wrong and get better at it. Just know that simply because you overcome, that challenge doesn't mean that you will enjoy the game.
I truly hate it and have found it the most miserable gaming experience of my life and I have played God of war Valhalla on hard ghost of toshima on hard I've played Jedi survivor on grandmaster, wu long I enjoy all of those games because while the challenge is very high, everything can still feel satisfying even wu long which is a sekiro clone It was very challenging and there were definitely tedious areas And lots of frustration but only very rarely did it get to a tipping point where you just wonder what's the point of even playing this? Or you just dread getting to another area where you're just going to be swarmed by everything
To sum everything up if you're going to play this game or any of the other from software games just be aware that it's not that they are difficult in the normal sense. They are unforgiving and the point is to be as tedious as possible. Find a boss that kills you in a couple hits. Well, just know that you're going to have to go through a lot of annoying enemies to get back to that boss and they're going to take health of yours and eventually once you do the runback you will remember where these enemies are and you won't get hit by them anymore, but you better find it fun. When you do get hit, you better think it's the most fun time ever trying to get back to a boss that you're learning while also learning how to get around the area without getting hit and knowing that you have to do that every single time you want to progress through the game, it will never not be like that. It's never going to not be as tedious as they can make it
