Loved this. Emerald Fennell draws you into the world she creates in her films. With the beautiful sets and cinematography, not to mention the incredible performances she elicits from her actors. I love how this film illustrates Oliver's obsession and doesn't shy away from the awkward moments when it manifests. I've heard criticisms that the film didn't deliver on its "eat the rich" promises. To me, I don't think that was the point of it, it was the themes of desire and obsession and the character dynamics at play. I loved it.
Carey mulligans cameo was hilarious, and Rosamund Pike was deliciously awful with her delivering one liners that made me laugh out loud. I was drawn to Barry Keoghan and couldn't help but think he is a once in a generation type of actor. This is the type of film that will allow you to escape and completely immerse yourself in their world. Creative and like nothing I have ever seen before. Well done 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
