The concept was cool and the dystopia was felt, however, that could not save this. There’s a lot of issues with the circle. Act 1 is painfully slow, and the whole movie is 99% exposition. It’s really painful to be told the plot instead of shown a story. At the end, there’s this big “twist,” and the MC is only able to pull it off because she’s actually been communicating with everyone but the big bad guys the whole time? Which… doesn’t make any sense cause we never saw it? (Spoilers—the Mac take about a “knocking system,” and secret language that she had with everyone around her? But they never… decided on a code? They never interacted or hinted at a knocking system? They just telepathically came up with a system somehow that no one (not even the viewer of the movie apparently) could see… at all?) I get it’s a hard concept to pull off but if feels like they decided to just *not* Was it written by AI? It’s so painful.
