Hosseyn Shanbeh Zaadeh

I don't normally read plays, but when I first read King Lear, I was thrilled by the power of it, although it was translated in Persian. When I heard that this movie is based on King Lear AND a Japanese story, I thought it might be a weird lame movie (because movies based in books are seldom as good), and I watched it with an ex of mine, reluctantly. I was dead wrong. I was more thrilled and dazzled by the movie than by the book.

A true masterpiece from a real master.

One of the best movies I've ever seen. Might be THE best. A true, true, true masterpiece. I don't think the gruesome reality of the dark ages, or the faith in the power of human can be depicted any better.

One of the WORST movies I've ever seen. Nobody could insult Shakespeare in a worse way that Mr. Affleck did. Even his movie with Jay Lo was better than this piece of junk. By the way, Oscars for best movie? Seriously?!
