Overall it's a very fun and action packed read. It's filled with orks, guns, magic, and dogs - all of the things that keep my short attention span satiated. If you like first person shooters and computer gaming then you'll like it even more.
The beginning drags a little because I'm drowning in the characters inner monologue. I did have to put it down and come back to it in the first 2 chapters a few times. There's an inner monologue throughout but later on its "just right". But after the beginning it's off to the races. It's a neat transition for the main character to go from high school to gun slinger that the story portrays very well. I found myself constantly following the main character and Bruce with enthusiastic curiosity. I hope there's a whole side series with just Bruce later on.
At one point they're fiddling with learning weapons and equipment and the next they're bull dozing some orks. It's that fun.
Absolutely worth the read. Give it a shot!
