Clichéd and definitely meant for kids. It feels like everything happened only because someone thought it looked cool and not to make a coherent narrative. Black manta was only there to set up the next movie, and did nothing to advance the plot. The other kingdoms joined the ocean master to stop the land people from destroying the seas, yet after this guy wages war against other sea kingdoms, ironically killing wildlife and killing another sea king for power, for some reason the other king still follows him. As cool as Jason Mamoa is as Aquaman, most of his time is spent trying to make cool poses and quips and creating an artificial bonding experience with the princess. Like most other superhero movies it was predictable. At least the ocean master had a legit motives even if he continually proved to be a brute with no military or ruling sense. Not a good movie, maybe you'll like it if you like cheap thrills, beautiful colors, and a predictably forced narrative that is super shallow. So much potential wasted. Maybe I expect more from a story but jeez this was another flop. And that after credit scene was random and annoying like most other scenes in this movie.
