The director was obviously possessed by the thought “I am not making a documentary” that he really overcomplicated things and ended up distracting the viewers rather than help them absorb and reflect on the epic story. Dizzying flashbacks and flash-forwards, over stimulating; repetitive; and clearly unnecessary visual effects, and an insanely fast paced dialogue that is very hard to follow without close captioning, all made the movie an unpleasant experience for me. So much so, I left the show shortly after the mid point. I wish the director resorted to conventional wisdom: “less is more”.. I was really looking forward to enjoying that story.
