!!Trigger warning for book: mentions of SA!!
For the most part this book does a good job of staying away from specific details about Greek myths, which almost always included sexual violence against women. I definitely think Riordan could have left even more out, especially in Ares’ chapter where it mentions a son of Poseidon trying to r@(# a daughter of Ares. This subject is handled in a subpar way throughout the book and makes it in appropriate for children or anyone who could be triggered by this topic. I was completely shocked to find the word “r@(#” in a book meant for children.
