I found it to be so light that it would have made a good cartoon. I didn't find the ghosts to be "deep and compelling". Most of them had the maturity of small children.

I chose this series because of the two main actors and I am not disappointed. Bear with the first 2 episodes and then you will get pleasantly surprised. I have to warn that the opening music made my head hurt, then made even my teeth hurt. Worst opening music ever in history.
