As a movie goer, I was entertained. As a reader of women's fiction, I was disappointed. The middle aged woman who failed at a "real" career so became a romance author instead thing is old, inaccurate and insulting. Having said that, it did well as a mindless piece of superficial entertainment. It won't make you think too hard, will probably extract a couple of laughs and likely be forgotten within hours of it finishing.

Yet another remake. Does no-one in Hollywood have an original idea in their heads? Do yourself a favour, watch the UK mini series The Unforgiven, it was far better. 🙄

A great big huh? The plot jumps all over the shop from past to present and back again. There are very little clues to distinguish the present from memory which left me pretty confused for the most part. There were a lot of questions left unanswered or, in the case of Charles, left completely unasked and unanswered. I loved the acting, but that's about the only positive I took from this. Really a bit of mess.
