Gadar 2 is not a movie, it's an emotion. Atleast someone in bollywood still knows how to make movies, watching the movie with my family in theatres was an epic experience. Unlike modern Indian movies depicting plenty of vulgarity, nudity, adult humor (none of which have been able to pull audience to the theatre by the way), what Gadar 2 has managed to do speaks for itself and the box office collection is a proof of the acceptance the public has given it. Gadar 2 has a sense of relatability, 90s vibes and a certain kind of feel which a lot of modern movies seriously lack.
Positives:
Music:10/10 - Trust me, every song is beautiful and memorable, they dont make songs like these nowadays anymore. Full on classic vibes with great music and choreography.
Direction: 9/10
Action: 10/10 - You gotta see it in theatre to feel the energy Sunny Paaji brings on screen and is such a powerful presence.
Acting: Sunny Deol is superb in every scene, delivers powerful dialogues with conviction. Ameesha Patel is gorgeous as ever. Manish Wadhwa has portrayed the role of a pakistani army general with sheer brilliance. The new actors Utkarsh and Simrat have great onscreen chemistry (the best one I have seen after a long time in Indian Cinema, filled with innocence and grace and no vulgarity). You will love both of them.
Dialogues: 10/10 - Powerful
Nostalgia: 100/100 - 90s kids are gonna love this.
X factor: Loads, the cheers of the public in some scenes will give you feeling like none other. Especially when there is a throwback to a lot of moments trom Gadar 1 like the Hindustan Zindabad dialogue and the very iconic Handpump scene.
Negatives:
Gadar 2 has very few weak moments that dont feel that well written (very few of those). Especially in second half where some of the scenes feel forced and make the movie seem lengthy. But they come together pretty well in the end and make the movie complete as a whole to tie things up. But hey, a movie does not have to be perfect to be really enjoyable.
However these imperfections make the movie more memorable and you will have a sense of immense satisfaction in the end. You will want to come back to youtube again and again for hearing the songs again once you have watched the movie: Dil Jhoom, Chale tere ishq me, Main nikla gaddi le ke, Udd ja kale kawa
