Got to say this... There was NO 'Gehrayi' in Gehraiyaan... NONE AT ALL ... The anticipation was such that, as the movie rolled from one disappointing frame to the next, we kept the hope that maybe, maybe now it shall wake up to our expectations...! But No... Deepika's aura, Shakun's genius, Siddhant's promise... Nothing shone through. Ananya and Dhairya... Were the only 'real characters' we saw mostly coz they were just playing themselves... They didn't really have to act to be another part... The chemistry between Ananya and Dhairya wasn't the focal point of the movie, yet it was a lot more relatable than the confused pattern between Deepika and Siddhant All skin, no substance, no lines even... 'A must watch' just to realize the power of 'trailers and promotions' and how they manage to hoodwink us this bad... If this is our home version of 'domestic noir', our movie makers sure need to relearn the genre definitions ... Now even the songs don't make sense... The only Gehraiyaan we witnessed in the movie were the depths of our sinking expectations...! Go watch MATCHPOINT instead! ~ A
