The movie, in general, is beautiful. Visually and conceptually it has so much potential. Otherwise, I would have said it deserved zero stars. But despite its beauty, I walked away feeling underwhelmed because the characters simply couldn’t make me feel the emotions that were needed. I understand that writers and readers may try to convey emotions differently, but in this case, they couldn’t convey them at all. The actress, especially, failed to bring any genuine romantic connection to her role. Her performance felt forced, as though she was trying too hard, which made the chemistry between the leads fall completely flat. The actor, on the other hand, gave a strong performance on his own. Yet, even though his acting was convincing, the lack of authenticity from the female lead made their scenes together feel awkward and unbalanced. Overall, it’s an okayish movie and unfortunately missed its emotional core. With better synergy between the leads and a more genuine portrayal of feelings, it could have been truly moving.
