Anyone who has PTSD, or knows veterans with it and have had a terrible life, may not be able to get through the stark contrast of characters that build little rapport with the audience against the intensity of the story, and then come to the sudden emotional end without having some life questions and emotional struggle.
I believe in forgiveness, but I also believe in truth and consequences. I don't want to ever see it again. My heart is broken for all the victims. (More than 90,000 Asian civilians died on the railway, as well as 16,000 POWs, of whom about 2800 were Australian. - I looked this up. I am still not over this movie!)
