Towards the end of the story Rikki Tikki shows his true colors, he is insane. Almost all of his actions at the start are understandable, but it's the things that he does nearer to the end that are strange to me. A bit through the story he threatens a homeless rat or rodent of some kind after he refused to give Rikki Tikki some info about the devious snakes, now that alone isn't that bad, but it gets worse. He kills the snake Nag about halfway though, but that isn't a bad thing, it's later on when he's facing nags wife Nagaina (now widow) and taunts her with the information that he murdered her husband and her children, oh yeah did I not mention that yet? Rikki Tikki found her egg nest with 25 eggs, he kills 22 of the snakes then he starts laughing, which is absolutely mucked up, killing them all would be kind of bad looking but LAUGHING ABOUT IT IS CRAZY. After that he kills two more then takes the final one with him. When he faces Nagaina he uses her last child to force her to retreat, but when she does Rikki Tikki chases her down and kills her in a hole. The ending really didn't feel good, though it was supposed to be a happy ending I just felt like there was an insane mongoose loose in the garden. I didn't like it, the whole thing was kind of boring and the hero felt very unrelatable (obviously) I think I'll give it a 2/5
