welcome to a rant i just finished the book and decided to watch the movie. idk why no one else is saying this but i was so disappointed with the movie adaptation of the book by shailene. (?) tbh i was hoping for much better, i think the book gave so much potential for a fantastic movie, and the writers simply did not pull through.. the movie was DRASTICALLY different from the book. most of the small but important things about the book got ignored, almost if they were trying to rush the movie. they rearranged scenes, cut a lot of them short or took out waaayy more lines then needed, then threw in some bs scenes that weren't even in the book??? i think the movie could've been so much better if they weren't trying to simplify and straight up delete the "filler". (filler that added mood and quality to the film, affected and complicated character relationships, created overall complexity in the storyline, the list goes on...) anyways i guess i'm just a bit bummed that the creators of the movie couldn't even bother reading the book... all that aside the movie is fine.
