I’m getting tired of boycott culture and people trashing a movie for a cause or whatever so I decided to go watch this. Also I wanted to support Bollywood trying to compete with the MCU etc.
Terrible mistake. It’s all forced and there is 0 character development. So it’s difficult to feel for any character. Long story short Ranveer Kapoor uses his power of love for Alia to save the universe . He met her like 2 days before and suddenly they are the best couple ever. Never mind the people he has had a relationship with for years. Like love for his mother or love for the orphans he was caring for maybe? The orphans seemed like a convenience to get him the girl and prove he is a nice guy and then they disappear.
And Alia comes from US sees a guy that takes him to show he cares for orphans. Then he flakes and disappears and doesn’t return back (sure cause he was having visions. But telling you this from the point of view of the girl that does not know this). But she leaves everything for him nevertheless and goes with him to wherever and says she loves him. Can you imagine that happening in real life. Like imagine if a girl wanted to follow me to the end of the world after I left her stranded on a first date for whatever reason and disappeared. I would be worried. Either she’s dumb as a rock and trusts everyone or crazy or has ulterior motives. To those that believe in choosing your life partner just by looks or a first date don’t do it trust me.
Anyway this is a setup for the next movie which shows the love between Dev (Ranveer Singh) and Amrita ( Deepika Padukone). Let me sum this movie for you and make a clever guess of the plot of the next one for you . I’ll also put on the director’s hat and speculate the third one for you.
Part 1: Ranveer Kapoor uses his power of love for Alia Bhatt to save the universe
Part 2: Ranveer Singh uses his power of love for Deepika Padukone to spare the universe
Part 3 (rumors): Vicky Kaushal ? uses his power of love for Katrina Kaif ? to maintain the universe
Only watch if you want to see the director glorify the Bollywood couples while giving you colorful lasers on camera doing “stuff”.
