While some aspects of the movie are not historically accurate, viewers must remember this is NOT a documentary. The movie was meant to tell the STORY of Robert the Bruce's struggles with uniting the people to overcome a tyrant. The movie is extremely entertaining, Chris Pine is a talented artist, and the film does an excellent job telling the story. If you are complaining about the movie being too bloody or too muddy; (as I have read in many reviews) does one think that they hugged each other to death? Do you think a tyrant would take the time to "RAISE THE DRAGON" and politely ask for information? It is tyrannical violence. They would not have to fight if things were nice.
So, unless you battled at the base of Loudoun Hill yourself, leave the history to the experts, and sit back to enjoy a profoundly entertaining story of the Scottish people.
Simple Review: The movie is excellent! Watch it for yourself, and enjoy it. If not, move on to the next movie, and stop sabotaging a film over misunderstood concepts.
