At first, I wasn't too keen on Venom getting his own film because I thought supervillain/anti-hero characters were only supposed to appear in superhero movies, like how Venom is supposed to be in a film with Spider-Man. I also wasn't too keen on how Sony changed the origin of Eddie Brock becoming Venom when I first read the main plot of the movie. However, when I bought a copy of this movie almost two years ago, and when I watched it, I was really impressed. I remember that Tom Hardy played Bane in The Dark Knight Rises, but his performance as Venom definitely topped that. The way Tom Hardy acted as Venom and how the Sony Pictures Imageworks special effects artists made the design for Venom, Riot, and the symbiotes was really impressive. They really made Tom Hardy's version way bigger than Topher Grace's Venom and I loved how they used the "Eyes, lungs, pancreas. So many snacks, so little time" line from the Spider-Man comics. Not to mention, they've made this version of Venom just as monsterous as he's supposed to be. I was surprised that they even added Anne Weying aka She-Venom in the movie. Even though they gave She-Venom a short amount of screentime, I'm still glad that she had her first appearance in a live-action film. This movie is one of the best movies I've ever seen and I can't wait to see Venom: Let There Be Carnage when it comes out in September.
