Should have, and could have been so good. Does anyone make reference to a family over and over as the “catholics”? The “jews”? The “muslims”? The “African-Americans”? The “Mexicans”? No! As good as this show was scripted and written, Mormons are not a stereotype. And the reference to “his other wife” in a show set in 1971 was 80 years removed from the reality of Utah culture. It’s like saying there are still black slaves in Georgia in 1971. I’m a big fan of Zahn and Jessica from Longmire and Frontier. But this writing could have been so much better without the stereotyping.
