I think I liked it better when it had less of a budget. The three episodes of season 5 had their moments but altogether weren't anything special. All of them really dragged and had really boring sections, they could have done with some serious editing. Striking Vipers was pretty boring and predictable until it got to the gay bit which I enjoyed, but in the end there wasn't enough gay and it ended up just using it basically as a stand in for porn rather than the exploration of sexuality and gender in virtual worlds it could have been. The one with Miley Cyrus had some fun parts, the second half went really silly which I quite enjoyed, but the first half again was really dull and mostly irrelevant to the main point of the episode. I only managed about ten minutes of the other one before reading the plot to see if it was worth continuing, then decided it wasn't. I feel like black mirror has really gone up it's own arse with this series.
