This is a great movie. The score by John Williams is fabulous and his use of solo clarinet, cello, harmonium, piano and oboe gives it a unique quality. At times wistful, eastern european in colour whilst preserving its own distinct voice. Tom Hanks performance of a man without a country is both funny and moving. His obvious skills and resourcefullness are endearing and ingenious. Stanley Tucci is excellent as the officious airport manager and the romantic element gives way to one of Catherine Zeta-Jones most convincing performances. Well worth repeated viewings.
