Bollywood needs many more films like QALA to retain its credibility to showcase mindful and thought-provoking films. QALA, a period film set in the 1930s, showcases the beauty in sorrow, the hope in despair, the failure in success, inner conflicts in the deep recesses of human mind and blends seamlessly into the issues of Patriarchy (ironically the Matriarch carries it forward) and objectification of women. Direction, cinematography, dialogues, sound design are top-notch and a treat for the eyes. Every frame carries a underlying meaning and some scenes in the film stir up a real feeling of empathy towards the characters. Music is refreshingly soulful and will teleport the audience into the bygone era of meaningful music. All the actors, specially Tripti and Swastika, shine like pearls with their realistic and serene performances. Would have loved to see it on the big screen.
Must watch film !!!
