1. This is probably the only Poirot book where the murder takes place so late in the story. 2. The part that is referred to as "marathon in the middle" is much longer than the traditional Christie length. No other Poirot/ AC books has such broad 'filler" content in the mid plot. 3. Poirot does not have that Belgium sternest like charm. If you have been a Poirot fan, this book will show you Poirot as an ordinary man without his wit. 4. There's a 9/10 chance that you will figure out the culprit very soon. Which is shocking as AC books are known to deliver jaw dropping endings. 5. There is no character depth. This is maybe because it has way too many characters and so it becomes difficult to introduce everyone properly in a 250 - 300 page book while keeping with the plot. 6. Death on the Nile has the weakest plot in all of AC books combined.

This show is basically an attempt to bring back House MD but in 2.0. Yes the show features a surgeon whereas Dr. House wasn't one. But the script isn't even slightly strong. The story feels too mellow. Whereas House MD was truly well written with dark sides of diseases and complications of medicine. Unlike that, this show feels to bright. There's no emotional side to the family of the patient and patient relatives are a total disaster. No character is witty and there's no hint of wisdom. So basically, there's no feel to the show.
