If you have a next gen console (Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PS5), Madden 23 is the best Madden in maybe 5-10 years. If you have an old gen console (PS4, Xbox One, and PC), it is an entirely different story. EA failed to add barely any futures to the older consoles. The new passing system? Next gen only. FieldSENSE? Next gen only. Gameday momentum / home field advantage? Next gen only. Things as basic as the gritty, scouting updates, and the new touchdown animation were not added to old gen consoles. Overall, EA made two completely different games. One, a great game, possibly the best in a decade, the other, a rock bottom game down with Madden 21, Madden 20, and Madden 19.
