I tried to find redeeming value in this show to no avail. You could drive a monster truck through the plot holes, the storylines that were introduced and just disappeared, and the production value was a joke. So many of the obvious painted (or was it CGI) backgrounds. Once you notice one, you notice them all. Lee Jae-Wook should have a come to Jesus meeting with his agent. This script should never have come his way it’s so below the quality programming he’s done in the past. Let’s hope he got a huge salary! Hong Suzu is not qualified to be a FL. She drove me insane with her raised eyebrows and wide open eyes that I guess were supposed to signify every emotion for her character. Directors should stop casting based on looks alone. (I know, it’ll never happen.) I try to have some compassion for new actors, but how many takes happened before the director yelled “Cut! Print!”and that’s the best he got out of her? Tragic.

It started strong, but it’s gotten superficial. Seo YeJi constantly talking in a whisper is annoying and pretentious. Her wardrobe is way too over the top and distracts from the story. As each week goes on, it gets worst. What a shame.

I can see why younger viewers might enjoy this kdrama. The ML and FL are beautiful, so I can see the appeal of watching them kiss and be intimate. That being said, it's not a good example for young people to emulate. The ML is a manipulative loser and it's denigrating to see the FL return to him time after time. I believe this was a terrible choice for a kdrama storyline. Also, the acting is bland, each episode brings nothing new and it got repetitive very quickly. I realize it's based on a web toon, but it's certainly not translating to the big screen. Cutting out the second ML because of allegations by an ex-girlfriend is ridiculous. I can see why the ratings are so low.

I enjoyed the idea even though we’ve seen this scenario many times. I’ve always liked learning character’s backstories and the events from their past that have shaped who they are and what their current motivations might be. I’m bingeing the series and I’m close to halfway through. Only in Japan would people truly rise to feed each other, protect each other and watch out for each other. Japanese society seems to teach their people to share like no other society I’ve ever seen. That being said, boy, could this show do with a re-edit. I believe when’s series is 10 episodes or more, there is a lot of wasted time just to fill the hours. If this show had a tighter rein on the storylines and timelines it could have been more highly rated. The acting is believable and fairly realistic for the situation they’re in. A solid cast with little to no overacting or amateurish actors. I’ve seen better works out of Japan and I’ve seen worse. This is a solid show that with some tweaking, could have been top of the line.
