The plot has more holes than a Swiss cheese. A lot of it just doesn't make sense. I won't even go into the lore, but even if you approached this knowing nothing about Tolkien's work, the story would still be overall bad -- disjointed and poorly written. Some pretty scenery on occasion, but that's it.
