Incredible character development, impressive acting by Joaquin as usual, and a moving storyline that actually allows you to sympathize with such a terrifying character. One of my favorite movies so far. An absolute masterpiece. Glad I didn't listen to the critics, as I'm enthralled with this version of the joker.
