I LOVED this film. I've never been a fan of Heigl, but she shined in this role and the chemistry between her and Wilson, with Belushi supporting, raises this film to the near extinct level of truly award-worthy endeavors.
Seems the critics are incapable of analyzing or appreciating anything original and refreshing, preferring to stay steeped in the muck and mire of the tired, bloated sequel/prequel franchises that now define Hollywood.
They throw awards at Die Hard 22, John Wick 9 & Star Wars: Is Luke's Great-Great Grandson His Great-Great Grandmother's Uncle? and worship at the altars of repetition and the dreary predictability that decades of intellectual property theft have created and sneer at anything that is truly original, well done and refreshing!
The only originality to be found (and the best these days) are the YouTubers daring to take on an industry that, like the stereo-typical aging actor who, at the age of 65 honestly believes he can play son to the up & comer set to take his place, is (embarrassingly) incapable of seeing that its become its own joke.
The empty, rotting, stinking carcasse of the dinosaur's bygone days cannot be prettied up or covered up with loud, fake, Chinese-production-line films, one after another, all the same and never changing.
In any case, Home Sweet Hell is an AWESOME, HYSTERICAL and REVEALING fresh film... for anyone still capable of critical, independent thought... which doesn't seem to be many these days. Cheers!
