Not quite sure what to think?
I’m not black and I’m not American but is this a sort of Black Sopranos on steroids? (That’s not meant to be literal).
It’s clearly hyperbolic, sensational and trope ridden but is that excusable in an imaginary world of crime, drugs and sex?
I found Kimmie a bit lame and Body totally obnoxious. In fact the cast looked as if they were recruited from ex Olympic athletes who could run a 10 second 100. Booty seems to be preeminent in the film.
Mind you “Last Exit to Brooklyn” had no redeeming characters and it’s sort of iconic, so maybe that’s what they were trying to achieve, slick, classy and abhorrent?
The car park scenes were like something from “Caligula” and odd funny scenes with Mallory, Jules and Roy were hilarious if not for their childlike selfishness contrasted with the seriousness of sex trafficking.
Still don’t know what to think? A mixture of mixed up and muddled genres!
