I don't mind them going in a new direction. I've liked the remakes, 13, 15, the spinoff games... the problem with this game, for me, is that it doesn't feel like final fantasy. It felt like they took dark souls, mixed it with Devil May Cry, and then slapped final fantasy in the title. In other words, their identity is not present in this game, just in name. Throwing summons in their doesnt make it final fantasy, there is a way it has been done with the cinematography the music, the characters, the flow of the story... all of that is lost here. It's disjointed and clunky. This game sucked the life out of me within the first five minutes. For the first time, I have been left disappointed by my favorite series.
