Austin's performance was exceptional. As far as the movie itself it lacked substance. Too much skipping around in a supposed story line. It was painful to watch such an outstanding actor as Tom Hanks perform as Col Parker. Was it a story about Elvis or Col Parker? I grew up in Memphis, my mother went to Humes with him and he worked with my father at Crown Electric. I grew up "Elvis" and I was very disappointed. We left after first hour and half. Austin does deserve an academy award for his part in the movie, he totally nailed it.
