Let's take everything brilliant and subtle about the novel and make it loud and annoying. While we are at it let's load it up with just about every cliché imaginable. The BRILLIANT novel definitely has a great deal of social commentary but handles it deftly and subtly. This is about as subtle as an M-80 . The children actors aren't much to write home about either. The so called " Standout " wouldn't make the B squad of the 2017 film.

Masterpiece plain and simple. This is truly a remarkable film

This used to be talked about in that B.S. " so bad it's good " way. This is a lie. Its just GREAT. It seems to be finally getting love in a big way. This is a great schlocky horror film and enjoyable as hell.

This is way too good for me to have never heard of it. I can't stop watching it. Its brilliant film horror in bite sized chunks. Guillermo Del Toro strikes again !

As amazing and timeless as Lee Marvin is/was when he became a star, he's incomparable when he was in his early villain phase. No one played a psychopath as well as Lee Marvin did and he's amazing in this unsung masterpiece.

One of the all-time great movies. ANY GENRE

Brilliant. Episode 3 in particular is a masterpiece of emotional film making.

Love the movie , i love david Cronenberg. But Stephen Lack the male lead with by far the most screen time is an absolutely horrid actor. He apparently was not an actor by trade and was an artist so I'm assuming David Cronenberg made that decision intentionally and for some metaphorical reason but I couldn't begin to say why and it's awfully distracting. The extras have more charisma than he does. Maybe he got better later in his career I couldn't say but anywhere. Great movie. A little dated perhaps but it's solid Cronenberg and Michael Ironside is reason enough to watch.

Wow.... Really knocked me for a loop how great this was. Hugh Grant is on another level and the ladies are amazing as well. Chloe East imcan play one of our greatest airy bimbos then turn it off completely with the flick of a switch. She and Sophie Thatcher but particularly East are incredible and definitely hold their own against Hugh Grant's effortlessly charming and diabolically sinister performance. He's really grown into himself. I sincerely believe this was easily an Oscar worthy performance from him and probably should have won but alas the academy NEVER recognizes horror. Ever. If it even smacks of genre then you best believe it'll not be mentioned or considered.
